1957 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Original for Sale

1957 Cadillac Convertible - series 62 - original pink (mountain laurel) - original 365 c. i. V-8 w/automatic transmission. I purchased it in 2001 with 116,000 miles, and it now has 137,400 miles and has always been parked inside since I've had it, and has hardly been driven at all the last couple of years - since I've had it, I've had it repainted the original color, installed new top w/back windshield, new padded dash, new exhaust, new aftermarket hubcap centers with new hood and trunk crest emblems - have bolted in rear bumper center section from a Cadillac Fleetwood to get the upright teeth that better match the style of the bumper ends and hubcaps - then re-chromed complete rear bumper and ends - installed a hidden frame mounted receiver hitch that is concealed behind the hinged fold up license plate - I have had the generator updated to an alternator, carb overhauled, just installed new top motor, pump and cylinders, and just have appx. 2000 miles on tires and battery - installed electric fuel pump and electric windshield wiper conversion - the upholstery is decent, except for an appx. 6 in. seam split under the driver - what has been redone is in the original pattern, but with naugahyde on the upper and bottom of the front seat, and also the bottom of the rear seat - the upright of the rear seat is still in the original leather - has working power seats and windows, and also the Autronic eye, which automatically dims the head lights as needed - has decent brakes after you sometimes have to pump the pedal a couple of times when first starting it for the day - the second owner did say that he had had the engine overhauled at about 100,000 miles - the main repair that I've had done was when I noticed a crack in the front cross member - I had it fixed right by removing the engine, having a welder fix the crack, and also match up the other side, which wasn't cracked, to keep that side from cracking later - I've since been told that this repair is not uncommon on the large General Motors convertibles of this era - when I put the top down for some of the pictures, I didn't snap the boot/cover and stretch it for driving because of the cold and the material was stiff - car could use the floorboards repaired - previous owner lifted original carpet, laid in lightweight steel overlay panels, and replaced carpet - looks good from the top, bad from the bottom - there is one appx. 1/2 in. long crack in the driver's door glass, right in the corner under the chrome, that was there when I got it, and an appx. 4 in. long windshield rub/scratch on the far left of the windshield, appx. 2 in. from the windshield post, also there when I got it - also, the radio tries to work, but I think it has an antenna problem, as there is an auxiliary antenna laying out of sight under the dash - lights and turn signals work, but the dash indicators for the turn signals do not work correctly - there are three appx. 3/4 in. wide small bubbles in the 15 year old paint job right between the right rear wheel and the chrome spears - engine does have a couple of small oil leaks, that should improve with more frequent driving - also, in the last picture, as I was backing out of the garage last week, I put a couple of long, very shallow scratches/rubs in the paint on the passenger side lower body between the rear wheel and the bumper - I am not a dealer, but I have described this car to the best of my ability. 1961 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible for Sale

Sacramento, CA

Thanks for checking out my Big Fin- 1961 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. This is truly the last year of the great Big Fin Cadillacs, I just love looking at these cars, there is nothing like them, just a piece of automotive history and art. Mechanically this car is in great shape. Original 390 V8 engine in great shape, starts right up, very clean running idles perfect, and just sounds great. Engine has had a minor detail recently, has new valve cover, intake, valley timing cover, and oil pan gaskets, very clean engine compartment for its age. No engine noise, no ticks, sound great, does not blow smoke or burn oil, oil and fluids changed recently as well. All factory under the hood the way a vintage Caddy should look all stock. The power steering pump and generator were recently rebuilt and in good operating order. The transmission shifts very nice, no hesitation, very smooth. Transmission has some very minor seepage, after you drive it, you might get a few drips on the ground, very minor, might need a new pan gasket at the least, I wouldn't worry about it at this point, when you have tim The front brakes were recently rebuilt and some front end bushings were replaced, it steers very good, brakes nice, very nice driving car. The exhaust is in great shape, dual exhaust, no holes, car just sounds great. The body is very nice, very sound. There are no rust bubbles, or blisters, the bottoms of the rockers, and quarters are excellent shape. Older repaint around 1990, it shows its age but overall shows nice. It does have some age to it, shows well, but when you get it under lights, you will see some light water spots, and small etching might be tree sap that sunk into the finish not sure, in the paint tried to capture in some photos in shop, outside all polished it looks great. It might help to have it lightly wet sand and have a professional paint detail guy might be able to make it look even nicer. You will notice small chips and scratches, on the car, again pretty minor. There is one long scratch at the bottom of the passenger side of the car, if it were me, I would just have that area spot painted, would be cheap to do, I should have done it now that I think about it, lol. Anyways, great body, especially for a vintage convertible, no rust, beautiful floors. Take a look under the car, original floors, frame is in excellent condition, no rust issues what so ever. The chrome is all there, but honestly it needs to be freshened back up down the road. The glass is all in good shape, no chips. The top is in decent shape, but the rear plastic window has some age to it, and needs to be replaced, it has 1 crack in about 3-4" long, need to put some clear tape on crack so it does not spread. The rear window does zip out, so might be able to be replaced pretty easy. The top is nice no splits, seams are all good. The top obviously white has some discoloration to it, not sure if it could be cleaned, or bleached, but overall it looks nice, and your going to have it down most of the time anyways. Take a look at the photos and you will get a very good idea of what it looks like, this is a very nice car with older paint, at this point, I would not paint it, just touch up areas it has and have it blended, have the bumpers rechromed, and update some things as time and money allow. The interior is in great shape. The seats were redone around 1999, in correct leather, they look in great shape front and back. Door panels all done as well, very nice condition. The carpet was replaced you can see a few imperfections on passenger side, but floor mats would cover them. The dash pad is decent, across the dash and instrument area, all original and looks good. The chrome on doors and seats are in really nice shape, the little embossing looks great. The chrome on dash has aged. The clock does not work. I am not sure about the Radio it is all intact, but there is no speaker, the antenna does not work though. The gauges work, speedo works, but right before he stopped driving the car in the early 2000's the odometer stopped work. It currently reads 82024, it is believed that the miles are correct, especially because he owned it for such a long time, but because it is not currently not working, it is unknown. Electric windows work very good up and down, horn works. The front seat is power, and it does work, but the back position is sticky and you have to help it along, I think the switch might be getting worn, once you get it in the spot you like it, leave it until you can look at it closer. The wipers work, the heater works as well. The instrument lights all work, map light works, but not courtesy light. The heater blower and heat work as well. Used 1961 Cadillac Series 62 82,024 miles Thanks for checking out my Big Fin- 1961 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. My 1966 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible1 of 2150 ever made Last year of the rear wheel drive Eldorado convertible The 1966 Eldorado recently celebrated its 50th anniversary429 Cadillac V8, AT, PS, PB, PW including vent windows, power seat, power trunk, power antennae, power top, power door locks, clock, cruise control, power trunk release, AM FM radio, tilt and telescopic wheel. Added but not correct include Cadillac wire wheels (I have the original wheels and hubcaps to go with car), 1941 Cadillac hood goddess, dual working spotlights. Plus, lots of additional chrome under the hood and inside the door openings. (Every option for 1966 except bucket seats and console)I do have a set of 1966 Eldorado Bucket seats if interested. After enjoying the car for several years and putting approximate 5k miles on the car I moved onto other cars. A few months ago, when I decided that it was time to sell and have someone else enjoy. I began to go through the car. It always started and ran great because it was well stored in a climate controlled garage on a trickle charger with stabil added to the gas and was started regularly so that was no issues. What needed attention were the AC, cooling system and most of the rubber on the car. Here is what I did over the last 90 days. AC recommissioned including work on the compressor, new AC relay, new condenser, new dryer, new evaporator. New radiator New water pump New convertible roof rail whether strip kit including header seal New pillar post seals New window sweep seals and belt line molding New rear window whether strip New trunk whether strip New trunk cardboard, New trunk lining material including spare tire cover New complete front end splash apron kit Trunk jack refurbished with correct wood chuck. Drive this car and you will understand why Elvis loved Cadillacs. The second, glaringly obvious thing you will realize, is where the saying … “It rides like a Cadillac.” came from for sure. Driving a car like this is an experience like no other, it is comfortable, smooth, luxurious and mesmerizing. When you arrive at your destination, people recognize you have shown up. The engine and transmission have both received a rebuild. Engine was bored.030, all new bearings, standard size, new cam/lifters, pertronix ignition. Transmission overhauled, shifts smoothly, all new u-joints in driveshaft. Completely rebuilt front suspension, rebuilt steering box, new shocks and brakes. New stainless exhaust system. 1969 Cadillac front disk brake conversion. All new convertible top system from Hydro-E-Lectric. Top goes up and down effortlessly as do the windows. The A/C is functioning. 100 % transparency here, it was hard to tell the other day just how cold it was. It was in the 50’s outside and it was hard to get a read on it. But it comes on nicely, compressor is quiet and smooth. The car will not disappoint. It is very nice looking, the paint is shiny and slick. Not perfect but a very nice, well prepped paint job on a straight, nicely gapped original body. Chrome has all been replated and it shows very nicely. The interior is new, genuine leather from SMS. All the chrome on the inside is very nice and restored. Top is brand new, looks great. Top frame has been detailed and painted. This car has been kept in a climate controlled garage.
