RARE ORIGINAL 56 Olds Holiday 98 Hardtop Coupe Factory Options-Accessories This 1956 Oldsmobile Holiday 98 Hardtop Coupe is a once in a life-time find (for an Olds enthusiast and purist like me.
) It is a (3) Owner survivor that originated from a St. Paul, Minnesota dealership and resided all of its life in Los Angeles, California until the
last two years in a Memphis, Tennessee collection. It has 101,633 original miles (@1,700+ miles/year) and includes the original owner âs manual, a shop manual, and miscellaneous documents. The Olds Holiday (aka " Snoopy" ) has been mechanically maintained and in a climate-controlled garage.
The first owner clocked the majority of mileage from 1956 to 1999. The second owner only clocked a thousand miles from 2000 to 2014. I clocked 633 miles since then. Nice older two-step base/clear coat in factory GM âAlcan White â and âCharcoal Metallic Poly â two-tone Oldsmobile âRocket â 324ci. V-8 engine with 4bbl. Rochester âQuadrajet â carburetor (rebuilt) @248
HPâJet-Away â Hydra-Matic Transmission (rebuilt) @ 350 lb. /ft. Torque Factory Options: High compression/9.25-1 âRocket â Engine (quiet/no smoke), Factory Dual Exhausts with Bumper Extensions, Power Steering, Power Drum Brakes (rebuilt), excellent Starfire Spinner Hubcaps (rare), Dual Chrome Oldsmobile Side Mirrors (rare), Custom Delco Air Horn (very rare and working with standard dual horns), âDeluxe Wonderbar â AM 2-Way Hi-Fidelity Radio with foot pedal (rare and working), Power Antenna (working), Power Windows (working), 6-Way Power Seat (working), 2-Speed Vent/Heater Blower (working), excellent original Red Leather and Black Brocade Cloth seats, excellent original Padded
Dash, good original red âDaytona â-style carpeting, Courtesy Lights package (working), Vanity Mirror, and Trico Vacuum Window Washer (working) with Hand-Operated Back-Up Pump (very rare and working).
Additional Accessories: Excellent Oldsmobile Chromed Front Bumper Guard (very rare), Mesh Vinyl and Spring-Attachable Bumper Guard (very rare), Oldsmobile Black Rubber Floor Mats, and the original Oldsmobile Chrome Dealership License Plate Frame with â56 Minnesota License Plate. This Holiday 98 has all surviving original factory equipment and materials aside from the newer paint, ignition parts, and a few clamps under the hood. The key reminder and safety buzzer still works.
Rubbers are excellent. Trunk features original White-Wall Spare Tire with Jack Kit. All fluids are fresh and it has been tuned-up mechanically. It is the nicest riding original high-end Oldsmobile I have ever experienced. (I wish I had more space to keep it and enjoy it longer. ) The overall condition of the car is excellent. Everything is clean and well-maintained without molestation- Appropriate patina for a 61 year-old survivor. All glass is clear/excellent condition and there is no rust in the body and chassis (still has the factory undercoating). Vacuum wipers work slow.
Heater valve has been bypassed. This Holiday 98 really only needs a new home- Or take it to concourse level and win first place every time : )
